Vintage Fishbone 1993 Give A Monkey… T-Shirt
Fishbone were one of a number of bands that came onto the alternative stage of 1990s’ carried on the shoulders of a funk metal crossover that was pioneered by Living Colour and was taken to a variety of places by Infectuous Grooves, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. The wave was so huge that even the almighty Bad Brains dabbled in the genre with their God of Love release in 1995. Fishbone were the progenitors of the genre, and their release Give a Monkey A Brain and They’ll Swear They Are the Centre of the Universe (what a title) took their sound in a slightly more grungy and metallic direction. This shirt dates back to that era and is a perfectly executed all over print that borrows from that album’s artwork.
